Preparing Tips:

Lettuce is used mostly in salads.

Try lettuce braised in butter, cream of lettuce soup or stir fried with mushrooms and onions.

Can also be cooked like spinach and eaten as a vegetable.

Storage Tips:

Wrap in paper towels, place in plastic container and store in the crisper drawer in the refrigerator for 5- 7 days.

Certain varieties have significant levels of beta carotene, folate, vitamin C, calcium, iron, and potassium.

Green leaf and romaine varieties are higher in nutrients than iceberg types.
